@dzmephisto This is correct the Non hitting arm is for balance and anticipation if you use it correctly. One of the reasons why they say to use the non hitting arm at shoulder hight is because it helps you stay up on the shoot and not bend your body from your waist. if you take it at the waist level it could make you bend your back down into the ball instead of bending your knees to hit into the ball.

you have too many details in just a forehand hit..cmon tell it simply how it is..you just make it confusing.

Will, tell me about lag. At start of fwd swing do I keep arm back and pull it with my shoulders? This is what I do in golf.

i would suggest the easiest thing to do is play 1 feet more behind the baseline.

hey could you give me some tips. i can hit really good forehands but i cant hit shots as good and lacks top spin when its above my waist.
dzmephisto (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
You can just keep it waist high. My coach told me to "point at the ball" with my non-hitting arm.Do whatever's comfortable for you, i believe the non-hitting arm is just for your balance. |
